First Training of Trainers took place in Beijing, China
On December 20-21, 2018, the first Training of Trainers took place in Beijing, China. The topic of the Training was “Regulations and Institutional Policies for a Successful Technology Transfer at HEIs”. The Training was organized and hosted by Law School of Renmin University of China.
The workshops were delivered by the experts from the European partner universities:
- Mr. Iván Rodríguez Roselló, Deputy Director of Technology Transfer Office, and Ms. Noelia López, Senior Project Manager, International Project Management Office, University of Alicante;
- Dr. Dariusz Kasprzycki, Intellectual Property Law Chair of Jagiellonian University;
- Mr. Henri JM Theunissen, PhD, Chief Valorisation Officer, Maastricht University, Chief Innovation Officer, Brightlands Maastricht Health Campus; and CEO of Knowledge Transfer Funds BV.
During the 1.5-day Training, the trainers presented the legal and regulatory framework for Technology Transfer, discussed the role, objectives, models and structure of Technology Transfer Offices, as well as key skills and knowledge for staff dealing with Technology Transfer, and shared strategies for business and government engagement.
Additionally, Mr. ZHANG Yonghua from Global Law Office, the Chinese IP expert, delivered a speech on the recent changes in Chinese IP law.
The Training was attended by more than 50 participants from 20 Chinese HEIs. The honourable guests were Prof. Chen Dongsheng, Chairman of Technology Transfer Alliance of PRC, and Prof. Sun Guorui, President of Beijing Intellectual Property Association, Professor of Beihang University.
The next CIPnet project activity is the second Training scheduled to take place in Zhanjiang, China, on March 19-20, 2019, with the topic "Intellectual Property Policies for Universities. The Aim, the Structure and the Content".
